Degree work in Fine Arts Textile Design at The Swedish School of Textile, 2015.
This project is about exploring a textile surface with the design elements of sound, physical contact and tactility. How these audio and physical elements can help stimulate the human senses. To bring these elements into a design context and create a textile surface could give people a sensory and spatial experience. The tufting technique makes it possible to work with long and short pile, which adds tactile values in the material. Using both natural and synthetic yarn qualities a spectrum of rustling sound appears. The personal experience could grab once attention and be a distraction to whatever might occupy once mind.
The result of this exploration is a vast tufted landscape (ca 3x4m) which could be integrated in an environment in several ways.
